Purpose Alignment:
The process of connecting your actions, goals, and daily tasks with a deeper sense of meaning or a broader vision — ensuring that what you do is in harmony with what truly matters to you.
One morning, a traveller came across three stonecutters working on a building site.
Curious, the traveller asked each of them the same question:
“What are you doing?”
The first stonecutter barely looked up and said, “I’m cutting stone.” His tone was indifferent — he saw the task as nothing more than a job.
The second stonecutter paused and replied, “I’m building a wall.” There was a touch of pride in his voice. He understood that his work was part of something bigger — something that would last.
The third stonecutter smiled, his eyes full of excitement, and said, “I’m building a castle.” He spoke as though he could already see the finished masterpiece — a lasting symbol of inspiration for generations to come.
All three men were doing the same work, but their perspectives couldn’t have been more different.
The first saw monotony.
The second saw purpose.
The third saw legacy.
The way you frame your work shapes how you experience it.
Do you see your efforts as mundane, meaningful, or monumental?
The choice is yours.

Love this. Makes me evaluate carefully how I frame my next creative project :)
Well done! I’ve just spent the morning reflecting on my writing and what I want to accomplish with it- especially in the context and timeline of a world I would not have chosen to live in (and yet, here I am). Your piece gives me a much more succinct summary. I choose to create my legacy and build a castle! I’m excited to see what design my castle (and legacy) takes 🏰🤔😁
